Phyllis June DeLong, 60, of Chesterfield VA, died on February 10, 2021. She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Smith and her husband, James D. DeLong, Sr. Phyllis is survived by her father, Herald Curtis Smith; son, James D. DeLong, Jr.; daughter, Rachel DeLong- Bradner and husband, Jason Bradner; grandchildren, Conner Bradner and Paisley Bradner; sister, Susan Smith; brothers, Robbie Smith (Linda), Keith Smith and Alan Smith, Sr., as well as numerous extended family and friends. Phyllis was a light everywhere she went; she could brighten any room she stepped into with her smile and warmth. She made everyone feel like family, and many refer to her as such. She was a sister to several, and a “Momma” to many more. Because of her nurturing disposition, Phyllis would give her last dollar to make sure everyone ate. She’d be there at 3 in the morning for any of her “children”, just to make sure they got home safely. If someone needed to sit down and talk, she was the first one there. Phyllis was best known for her personality that matched her hair! She was spunky, charming, flirtatious and when provoked, could be just as fiery! She was one of a kind and left her mark on everyone she met. Phyllis had a soul that will never be forgotten.
