Polly Ann Eggleston, 81, of Chesterfield County, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 4, 2013. Born in Christiansburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Gaynor and Pauline Connor Harman. Mrs. Eggleston worked in public education for 42 years touching the lives of all who knew her. She was a charter member of Phillips Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the founder of the Phillips Senior Friends. In addition, she was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, the Matoaca Women’s Club, and was a former buddy reader at Matoaca Elementary School. Mrs. Eggleston loved people, especially children, and was extremely fond of animals. She is survived by her husband, Jack Eggleston; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline Eggleston Ferguson and Mike Ferguson of Chesterfield; son, Dan Eggleston and his significant other, Heather Taylor of Charlottesville, VA; sisters-in-law, Hope Harman and Betsy Harman; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and numerous friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with The Reverend Michelle Lindsey officiating.
