Polly Leath Thrower

Polly Leath Thrower, 84, devoted wife and mother, and a longtime resident of Dinwiddie County, died Friday, February 23, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Roper and Ella Chambers Leath; husband, James Madison “Pete” Thrower; and a son, Roper R. “Randy” Thrower. Mrs. Thrower is survived by her daughter, Sharoné “Cherie” Costello and husband, J.J., of Virginia Beach, VA; grandson, Philip “P.J.” Costello of Fredericksburg, VA; nieces, Virginia B. Griffin and husband, Gene, and Barbara Ann Scruggs; and a nephew, Bobby L. Mizelle. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home followed by interment at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service.
