Preston Donnelly Emory, Sr., 91, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late William Henry and Georgia Harris Emory. Mr. Emory served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a retired health inspector for the Virginia Department of Health. He was a member of Ocran United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men. A friendly and outgoing person, he always kept a positive outlook on life. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family. Mr. Emory is survived by his wife, Ethel Aldridge Emory; son, Preston D. Emory, Jr. and wife, Debbie; daughter, Donna E. Wells; grandchildren, Jessica, Olivia, Marcus, and James; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Dixie. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, in the funeral home chapel, with The Reverend Larry House and The Reverend Gene Tatum officiating.
