Preston Lee Westmoreland, age 86, of Colonial Heights, VA, died on Saturday, June 2, 2007. He was born in Dinwiddie County, VA, the son of the late James B. and Bessie Mae Wallace Westmoreland. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, and retired electrician with Hercules Chemical Company, Hopewell, VA. Preston was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Wilkinson Westmoreland, brothers, James Porter Westmoreland, and Chatten O. Westmoreland; sisters, Sadie W. Kirkland, Sue W. Johnson, and Louise W. Whitmore. He was also preceded in death by his very close and devoted nephew, Clifton A. Westmoreland. He is survived by his devoted great niece and caregiver, Brenda Westmoreland Carter, and husband, Russ; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ethel and Larry Davis, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wayne and Sherree Wilkinson, nieces, Mary Alice Hamrick, Linda Trexler, and husband Ted, Diane Gay, and husband Ed, and Charlotte W. Savage, and husband Luther; nephews James â??Bubbaâ? Westmoreland, and wife Inge, Danny Westmoreland, and wife Patricia, and Jackie Westmoreland, and wife Shelby. He is also survived by his great nephew, Marvin R. Westmoreland and wife Debbie; great niece, Rosemary Westmoreland McKenney, a very special â??Sonâ? of Preston and Helenâ??s, Leroy F. Heinrich, of Hopewell; and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 4, 2007, at 11a.m. in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA.
