Professor Helen Yang

Professor Huiqing Helen Yang, Ph.D., age 47, departed this life on Sunday, Jan 23, 2011. She was born in Taiyuan, Shanxi, China to Qingshan Yang and Jine Liang. Helen graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Ph.D. in Scientific Computing. She has worked as an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Virginia State University. As a loving wife, devoted mother, and dedicated teacher, she is survived by her dedicated husband, Dr. Zizhong John Wang; loving daughter, Yangyang Angela Wang; parents; grandmother, Chengxiang Song; brother, Yungang Yang; and sisters, Huiming Yang and Huien Yang. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 12 p.m. in Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral home (3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831).
