Rachel Childress

Rachel Wells Childress, 89, of Chesterfield, widow of Jesse Childress, died Friday, December 9, 2005 at her home. She is survived by three children, Linwood Childress of Miami, FL, Linda Braun of Greenbelt, MD and Carolyn Cooper and her husband, David of Chesterfield; five grandchildren, Thomas Preston Seay, Jr. of Chesterfield, Stefan Braun of Astoria, NY and John Childress, Michael Childress and Mary Wall all of Roanoke; five great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Joan Childress; two sisters-in-law, Lottie Wells of Matoaca and Irene Blankenship of Petersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Ken Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T.
