Rachel Ozmar

Rachel Rowland Ozmar, formerly Rachel Rowland Lanier, of Colonial Heights, died on Thursday, March 20, 2008. Born May 21, 1918 she was preceded in death by her husbands, Bernard Lanier and Thomas Ozmar. She is survived by her brothers, Charles Rowland, Rudolph Rowland and Donald Rowland; nephews and nieces; her long time companion, Tami Swearingen; her special caregiver, Debbie Taylor and a host of very special friends. Rachel was retired from AT&T and was a member of Highland United Methodist Church, Mary Murphy Sunday School Class, Oak Hill Garden Club and a past member of Colonial Heights Womenâ??s Club and the Eastern Star. The family wishes to express their appreciation on Rachelâ??s behalf for the care and compassion given by the staff at Colonial Heights Health Care Center. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 in Blandford Cemetery with Rev. William Rawlings, III officiating.
