Rachel Nelson Snyder

Rachel Nelson Snyder, 88, of Hopewell Virginia, died Monday March 6, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband, June H. Snyder; parents, Major Howard Nelson and Virginia Margaret Nelson. She retired from Best Products in Cavalier Square after more than 20 years of service. She was a member of the Beta Mu Sorority, loved traveling and shopping with her daughter, spending time with her family, friends especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Rachel is survived by her son, Ralph Snyder; daughter, Debbie Snyder Tavenner and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Rebekkah Snyder Mills and husband, Nathan, Lyndsey Tavenner Pittman and husband, Jeff, Ashley Tavenner Whitt and husband, Stephen; and great-grandchildren, Titus, Emma Joy, Griffin, Ellie, Abigail, Sydney, Brady and (soon-to-be) Hunter; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Appomattox Cemetery.
