Ralph Milton Kidd, 94, of Stony Creek, widower of Marjorie Hart Kidd, died Thursday, October 2, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Gray and Effie Clary Kidd, his son, Ralph M. Kidd, Jr., a sister, Geraldine Kidd Taylor, and two brothers, R. Wilson Kidd and Malcolm M. Kidd. Mr. Kidd served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre. His service earned him numerous decorations including the Purple Heart and two Bronze Service Stars. He was a retired merchant as a partner in Jones & Company for 46 years. He was a member of Fort Grove United Methodist Church and Edwards Lodge No. 308 A.F. & A.M. Mr. Kidd is survived by an aunt, Eunice Clary Taylor; nephews, Richard G. Kidd, Richard G. Kidd, Jr., Jim Kidd, Christopher Kidd, John Kidd and Gene M. Kidd; nieces, Ruby Joyce K. Baird and Clara Dell K. Mills. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 6 at Blandford Cemetery with the reverend Norma Jean Townsley officiating.
