Ralph E. "Papa" Rowlett, Sr., our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle of Matoaca went home to the lord on September 15, 2023. Ralph was born on July 29, 1936, in Petersburg, VA, to Silas and Levi Rowlett. After beginning his career as an electrician with James Adkins he retired from E.I. Dupont after 39 successful years. Ralph was a proud member of the A.P. Hill Camp #167, Sons of Confederate Veterans. As he took pride in repairing things for friends, family, and loved ones, he was never without his tape measurer, level, and especially DUCT TAPE. He was a dedicated grandfather and great-grandfather encouraging all of our activities, events, and accomplishments throughout our lives.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Dorothy Fenn and Irene Burress; his brothers, Eugene and Wilfred Rowlett; and his beloved dog, Dutchess.
Ralph is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Joyce of sixty-eight years; children, Vicki Henry (Jim), Ralph, Jr. "Butch" Rowlett (Kay), and David Rowlett (Cassie); grandchildren, Brandi Masson (Chris), Chase Rowlett (Elizabeth), Matthew Henry (Jeanette), Nikki Porter (Nate), and Shana Matlick (Brad); great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Kara Masson, Carly and Roman Henry, Luke and Tess Rowlett, Harper and Everly Porter, and Cole and Wyatt Matlick.
The family would like to give our thanks and love to a very devoted caregiver, Tabitha Davis.
