Randolph “Randy” Luther Tench, Jr., 65, of Dinwiddie County, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021. Born in Petersburg, VA he was the son of the late Randolph Luther and Jessie Evelyn Merten Tench; and was also preceded in death by his sister, Jean Evelyn Tench Proctor. Randy worked for Mundet for 23 years and B&H distributing for 25 years prior. He loved to sing and play the saxophone in the Funtime Band, whom were like brothers to him. He loved nature, but mostly reptiles. Randy was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church and loved his Sunday School class and to sing in the choir. Most of all he loved his wife and daughters. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Karen Curtis Tench; two daughters, Kelsey Dawn Tench and Katherine Gayle Tench; his sister-in-law, Diane Curtis Wheeler; nieces and nephews, Jessica Wheeler Bowles (Danny), Curtis Andrew Wheeler (Chloe), Debbie Proctor Alford (Benny), Matthew Dale Proctor (Stacy) and Rebekah Proctor Schroeder (Patrik); and numerous great-nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Western Heights Baptist Church. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family is being served by the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
