Raymond T. Collins, 64, of Chester, VA passed away September 14, 2021. Raymond was born and raised in Hopewell, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Theodore and Sendella Collins. He is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica, of 15 years; daughters, Jessica Pollard (Billy), Melissa Shelburne (Justin), Amanda Fleenor (Brent), Lindsey Lipsey (Jack); son, Eddie Shelburne (Cassie); and grandchildren, Will Easton (Kaci), Ian Easton, Abigail Easton, Joseph Shelburne, Jackson Shelburne, Aliton Fleenor, Madison Fleenor, Sloane Shelburne, and Sawyer Shelburne; sister, Pat Woods and brother-in-law, Chris. He had numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he lovingly adored. He spent much of his adult life working as a machine operator at Honeywell Technical Center. His proudest moment was becoming a Christian and living a life dedicated to Jesus Christ. He was a long-time member of Cawson Street church of Christ in Hopewell. Raymond was an avid outdoorsman with a love of deer hunting, always in search of that “big buck.” He was a gifted musician and lyricist who not only enjoyed bluegrass music, but wrote, played, and published numerous songs. Raymond took great pride in his family, especially his grandchildren, who he spent most of his time with. A visitation will be held Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Cawson Street Church of Christ in Hopewell, VA. Funeral services will be Monday, September 20, 2021 at 11:00 am also at Cawson Street church of Christ, with a graveside service to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, VA.
