Raymond Jones

Raymond "Ray" Jones, 82, of Claremont passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward A. Jones and Mary Forehand Jones; wife, Myrtle Louise Jones and a stepdaughter, Joan McKnight. Mr. Jones is survived by a stepson, Gordon Seaman; stepdaughters, Gloria J. Bombardiere and Judy Garrison; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Irma Thompson, and Mary Virginia Wishon; brothers, John W. Jones and Delmar E. Jones and a special friend, Margie V. Copeland. The family will receive friends at the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Wakefield on Monday, February 28, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm. A service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Surry Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
