Raymond Phelps

Raymond Meredith Phelps, born in Petersburg, VA August 25, 1926 and a longtime resident of Colonial Heights, went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2008. Daddy was a proud American and a U. S. Navy WWII veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 284, Colonial Heights Rotary Club, and the 40 and 8. He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Cynthia Lynn Phelps Patrick. Raymond is survived by his daughters, Jo Phelps and Mary Kay Phelps Schrock and her husband, Kim; and son-in-law, James Patrick. He had six granddaughters, Joy Patrick Minozzi and husband, Jeff, Kimberly Patrick, Carissa Grazel, Rebecca Patrick, Meredith Schrock and Marylynn Schrock; two great-grandsons, Adam Raskin and Lucas Minozzi; step-grandchildren, Brian Schrock and Christine Minozzi. Raymond is also survived by his sister, Lois Cooley and brothers, Louis Earl Phelps and Donald Phelps. He was met in heaven by his brother, Calvin Phelps and his parents, William Cleason â??Shortyâ? Phelps and Gladys Stables Phelps. There will be a service at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. No flowers please.
