Raymond Eugene Sheets Sr.

Raymond Eugene Sheets, Sr., 85, of Ford, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Born in Blue Creek, WV, he was the son of the late Albert and Flodie Fields Sheets. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Sheets, Atley Sheets and William Sheets; and sister, Ocie Sheets Quinn. Ray held a sixth degree black belt in karate. He passed down his knowledge of karate by operating Sheets School of Karate for many years. He is survived by his wife, Susan Diane Sheets; son, Raymond E. Sheets, Jr. and wife, Jolisa; daughter, Caroline E. Higgins and husband, Anthony; step-son, David Mayton and wife, Stephanie; six grandchildren, Kerigan L. Sheets, Midori K. Sheets, Eugene Sheets, Jacob T. Mayton, Caitlyn Mayton and Genevieve Higgins who will make her appearance in March 2018; and sister, Edith Cantrell of Charleston, WV. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Hawkins Memorial Presbyterian Church, 7816 White Oak Road, Ford, VA 23850. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hawkins Memorial Presbyterian Church.
