Raymond Lee Strathy, Sr.

Raymond Lee Strathy, Sr., 80, passed away on March 26, 2025, at his home in Chesterfield County. He retired from his career at the Virginia Department of Transportation, after 41 years of service, beginning in the Accounting Division and completing his career in the Bridge Division.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lillian Herndon and Ned C. Strathy, Sr.; his sisters, Shirley Jennette, Mary Rebecca Teixeria, and Carol Ann Tarpley; and his brothers, Wilmot Strathy and Ned Clifton Strathy, Jr.

He is survived by his three very special children, Raymond Lee Strathy, Jr., Cheryl Joyce, and Skylar Lillian Strathy; his three grandchildren; his sister, Rachel Bracket; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM, and a service to follow at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
