Raymond Herol Walker, 88, of Hopewell, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He was the son of the late Clarence McKeever and Mary Ruth Moore Walker. He served as a diver in the U. S. Navy during WWII, searching for underwater mines at Pearl Harbor. Mr. Walker was a retired electrician and lineman with the Post Engineers at Fort Lee and a longtime member of Newville United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Cole Walker; brothers, Maxwell Walker and Garland Walker; and sister, Mary Ellen Eanes. He is survived by his daughters, Alice Marie Khalil and Joyce Ann Kupferman; grandchildren, Shawn R. S. Khalil, Kera Khalil Tomlin, Deena Khalil Gakos, Kevin Kupferman and Cory Kupferman; great-grandchildren, Dallas Ihsan Khalil, Zoli D. Khalil and Skye Nuygen; brothers, Clarence Edward Walker, James Moore Walker and Douglas Lawrence Walker; sisters, Bessie May Pitts, Anne Louise Perkinson, Nancy Ruth Stolen, and Brenda Ann Wilson; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 15th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with The Reverend Beverly J. Nelan, Pastor of Newville United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
