Rebecca Lamm Cornett, known to many as "Becky," passed away on April 22, 2023, at the age of 79. She was born in Petersburg, Virginia, on October 15, 1943. Becky is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Wayne; their son, Jimmy (April); daughter, Cindy (John); grandchildren, Joshua (Candice), Heather, David (Nancy), Faith Rebecca (Jody), Charity (James), Seth (Evelyn); and great-grandchildren, Judah, Hazel, Leah Marie, Marielle, Ty, Randy, and Hope Rebecca. She also leaves two sisters, Jean Roberts and Annette Perkinson.
Becky had a passion for her family, her lord and savior Jesus Christ, and a zest for enjoying life. She loved playing cards, bowling, laughing with friends and family, and enjoying her beautiful yard. Before retiring, she spent her career at Brown and Williamson, working as both a machine operator and a tour guide for the company. After leaving that role, Becky held various management positions and was known for leaving a lasting impression with her gorgeous smile, beautiful hair, and elegant style.
Services for Becky will be held at the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Dinwiddie Chapel, on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 1pm. She will be laid to rest in a graveside ceremony shortly afterward, at Southlawn Memorial Park.
Becky will be forever missed by her family and her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and memories she created. As Proverbs 31:31 says, "Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
