Rebecca Simpson Ray”Katy”, 57, formerly of Hopewell passed away on Thursday June 30, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Ray; son, Mark Powell. Katy is survived by her daughters, Angel Brown (Ernest), Julie Carter (Al), Heather Johnston (Kirk); granddaughters, Briana Brown, and Aryana Carter; niece Alma Aguilera (Steven Wheeler); brother Gene Gurganus, sisters, Laura Marroquin, Brenda Haskett, Angelina Priode, Sally Wilson, Betty Hinchey, Vivian Paul; numerous other nieces, nephews, and family, and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday July 5, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home.
