Rebecca Thompson

Rebecca Prevatte Thompson, age 88, of Hopewell, VA, died on Sunday, July 12, 2009. She was born in Roberson County, NC, the daughter of the late Furney A. and Dora Moody Prevatte. Mrs. Thompson was also preceded in death by her son, James A. Thompson. She was a loving wife and mother. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her children, Cecil D. Thompson of Goochland, VA, Richard E. Thompson and wife, Brenda of Prince George, VA, Nancy C. Thompson of Hopewell, VA, and Odis D. Thompson and wife, Elaine of Prince George; seven grandchildren, Charles, David, Travis, Jackie, Nikki, Stephanie, and Meredith; six great-grandchildren, Donnie, Zachrey, Mackenzie, Rhiannon, Riley, and Jacob; and other extended family. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with a private interment at a later time.
