Reginald Allison Spain, 81, of Dinwiddie died on Tuesday, August 07, 2007. He was the son of the late Harold Emmett Spain and Faith Elizabeth McLemore Spain and husband of the late Grace Marie Holland Spain. He was predeceased by brothers Harold Emmett Spain, Jr. and Randolph Thomas Spain and son-in-law Charles David Payne. Survivors include son Larry Spain and wife Patsy of Pulaski, Virginia; daughter Cheryl Bass and husband Lloyd of Courtland, Virginia; daughter Marilyn Payne of Franklin, Virginia; daughter Jean Creech and husband John of Franklin, Virginia; daughter Beverly Myers and husband Tom of Franklin, Virginia; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Reginald served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was retired from the Petersburg Post Office. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, August 9, 2007 in Blandford Cemetery. The Reverend Steven R. Gupton will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Petersburg-Colonial Heights SPCA or any local animal shelter. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
