Rennie Page Morriss, 76, of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jeannette Morriss; his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Rennie owned and operated "Morriss Home Repair" for over 40 years in the Petersburg area. Outside of work, he enjoyed working in his yard and garden. Rennie also had a passion for animals. He liked watching baseball and football, and enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, the Braves and the Commanders (formerly the Redskins). Rennie was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Petersburg, where he was a current head trustee of the church board.
Rennie is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Carolyn Morriss; his sons, Charles Morriss and Michael Morriss (Christine); his stepchildren, Cathy Caron and Timothy Sherman; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandsons; sister, Marcia Hudson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to sincerely thank Paul Tudor and Lorrie Roper for their help, support, and friendship over the years.
A funeral service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 215 S. Sycamore Street, Petersburg, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Southlawn Memorial Park immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rennie's name may be made to either Trinity United Methodist Church or your local Humane Society.
