Lt. Col. Ret. Ronald Vincent Drown, 79, of S. Prince George, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Anna Namojvick Drown; and brother, Douglas Drown. Ron was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He was stationed at Ft. Lee Army Base. He went on to complete 20 years of Civil Service after retirement from active duty. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lodge #882 for many years. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Benita C. Drown; son, Christopher Drown (Sheila); two daughters, Amber Levi and Leigh Ann Ragsdale; two step-sons, Chuck Barnes (Heather) and Bradley Barnes; step-daughter, Angie Radford; seven grandchildren, Matthew Faulkner, Bruce Faulkner, Jr., Christopher Drown, Jr., Ashley Faulkner, C.J. Barnes, Kaity Barnes and Scott Millsap; and two great-granddaughters, Penelope and Skylar. Mr. Lt. Col. Ronald Drown would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where he will be socializing, laughing, jazz, arts & James Bond. He left detailed instructions for his wife, children, family and friends to celebrate his mission here, which has now been completed. “Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.” Carry on. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675. Condolences may be registered at
