A Chafin Barnette

Reva Chafin Barnette, 83, of Hopewell, VA passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Dunlop House. Born in Caretta, WVA she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Grace Lovins Chafin; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon R. Barnette; and two sons, Alan Barnette and Ryland Barnette. Reva was a longtime member of West End Presbyterian Church and had also worked as a teacher’s aide at West End Christian School. Mrs. Barnette was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Eddie Barnette and wife, Shannon; two daughters-in-law, Denise Barnette and Mary K. Barnette; two granddaughters, Marie and Jewel; two great-grandchildren, Ryland and Destiny; and two sisters, Gale and Delores. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Homes with the Rev. Eddie Reed, officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Williams United Methodist Church Cemetery, Kenbridge, VA. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the funeral home.
