Richard Lee Brockwell Sr.

Richard Lee Brockwell, Sr., of Prince George, VA, passed away on March 22, 2017 at McGuire Palliative Care Unit. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Evelyn Brockwell. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Edith Ezell Brockwell; his sons, R. Lee Brockwell, Jr., and M. Jay Brockwell and his fiancé, Christina Winstead; his brothers, Al Brockwell (Sue), and Stanley Brockwell (Denise). Richard was retired from Fort Lee, VA as a master electrician. He was active for many years in the Burrowsville Volunteer Fire Department. Richard was a disabled Vietnam veteran who loved this country and community. He fought a courageous 2 year battle with cancer as a result of exposure to Agent Orange. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W. Broadway, Hopewell, VA 23860 with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Burrowsville Volunteer Fire Department, 17300 James River Drive, Disputanta, VA 23842.
