Richard Eley

Richard Cary Eley, 70 of Petersburg died April 7, 2004 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Cary and Annie B. Inge Eley. He retired after 35 years service from Pepsi Bottling Co. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Ivey Eley; one son, Richard “Ricky” C. Eley, Jr. and daughter, April L. Barrett (Thomas); grandchildren, Jennifer and Jamie Lewis of Dinwiddie County; step-grandchildren, Timmy and Brittany Barrett of Dinwiddie County; step-children, Wayne Ivey, Susan Comer and Wanda James; nine step-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren; one sister, Arlene Simmons of Columbus, OH., one brother, Walter H. Eley (Rae) of Kill Devil Hills, NC., two nephews and four nieces. He was a member of Elm St. Baptist Church and Dinwiddie Moose Lodge. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, April 12, 2004 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery.
