Richard Elliott

Richard Paul Elliott, 79, of Prince George, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2012. He was a Master Electrician and worked at several of the area plants. Mr. Elliott was a longtime member of the church, and became an ordained minister in 1962. He loved his church and being in the ministry, he really enjoyed talking to people. Mr. Elliott loved all of his family and especially his two wives. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara M. Elliott; his father, Paul Austin Elliott; and sisters, Kitty Mae Jones and Jean Sprouse. Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife, Ruth N. Elliott; his daughters, Brenda Elliott Taylor and husband David, Karen Elliott Dalton and husband Dennis, Sharon Elliott Sipos and husband Donnie, and Elizabeth Elliott Smith and husband Randy; stepsons, Joe M. Nester, H. Michael â??Mikeâ? Nester and wife Barbara, and Tim W. Nester; his mother who is 102 years old, Susie Elliott; four brothers and two sisters; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at the South Hopewell Church of God. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the church. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park in Chester, Virginia.
