Richard Charles Heilman, Sr.

Richard Charles Heilman, Sr., 81, of S. Chesterfield, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie Remolino Heilman; and wife, Marian Rose Heilman. Richard was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and will be remembered as a hard worker. Richard is survived by his four sons, Richard Heilman, Jr., Steve Heilman and wife, Michelle, Scot Heilman and wife, Janette, and Brian Heilman and wife, Michelle; two daughters, Bonnie Vaughan and husband, Darrell, and Sheri Atkins; son-in-law, Glenn Atkins; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M, on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 22218 Dabney Mill Rd., N. Dinwiddie, VA 23803. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the church. The family is being served by the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
