Richard Thomas Joyner

Richard Thomas Joyner, 81, of Hopewell, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021. Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late James Roland Joyner and Sallie Bell Harris Joyner. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Mary F. Warren, Dorothy L. Freeman, Marjorie M. Cole, and James A. Joyner.
Richard Joyner was employed with Brenco, retiring after many years of service in metal fabrication. In his spare time, Richard loved to fish and spend time on the Appomattox river. He especially enjoyed collecting various types of scrap metal as his hobby. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by two sisters, Joyce O’Berry and Violet L. James; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. All funeral services will be private.
