Richard Harris Price, Sr.

Retired MSG Richard Harris Price, Sr., 81, departed this life on December 1, 2023, at The Grand Richmond at Brook Run, in Richmond, VA.

He was born July 9, 1942, in Henrico County, Virginia. He was survived by his wife, Ella Louise Price; four children; and his sister, Naomi Shavies. He served 20 plus years in the U.S. Army, and retired as a Bronze Star recipient and Vietnam Veteran. He is a 39 year veteran of the U.S. Army. He did his best to love his family and worked hard in dedicating his time to the military, family, several churches, and community services. This started a legacy of four children; thirteen grandkids; six great-grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives for us to continue growing in faith, family, hope, prayer, and love. Because we love our dear husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, his memory will live with us, and we will make him proud. He will forever be in our hearts.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 2 PM until 3 PM, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 103 S. Adams St., Petersburg, VA 23803. Following the visitation, a funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 3 PM, in the chapel. The repast will follow service at The Pavilion of Joy, 1769 S. Sycamore St., Petersburg, VA 23805, in the rear of the church.
