Richard "Beanie" Bain Temple

Richard "Beanie" Bain Temple, 82, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025. He was the son of the late Richard Bertram and Mary Lula Bain Temple and was also preceded in death by his loving special friend, Yvonne Titmus Witt.

Mr. Temple was a United States Army veteran and was the former owner and operator of Temple Exxon/Beanie's Place/Temple Automotive. In his spare time, he enjoyed racing as well as helping out local race teams and spending time at Southside Speedway.

Richard is survived by his children, Dr. Cindy Sessums (Brenda) and Derrick Temple (Carla); six grandchildren, B. Jay, Christopher, Britney, Danielle, Braxton, and Erika; ten great grandchildren; and two sisters, Julia Joyce and Winnie Campbell.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Interment will be private.
