Rita Grady Bibb

Rita Grady Bibb passed away with her family by her side in the beautiful home she made and loved decorating on December 15, 2018. She was born to the late Paul E. Grady and Mary V. Brown of Richmond, VA on September 30, 1947. Rita was a passionate, loving spouse of 51 years to her surviving husband, David L. Bibb, Sr., devoted sister to her best friend, Roberta A. Turnbell, deeply adored mother to her only child, David L. Bibb, Jr., and a wonderful and giving “RiRi” to her grandchildren, Jack and Harper. She was also preceded in death by her half-brother, C. Joseph Piwowarski. Rita worked for the Richmond Public Schools’ Department of Transportation for more than 40 years, starting off as a school bus driver before working her way into the back office and eventually becoming the head of payroll. With her infectious smile and bright eyes, she always took pride in making sure that everyone was treated respectfully and paid fairly for their hard work, advocating to her supervisors for them whenever necessary. She was loved by many. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her and will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, at J.T. Morriss & Son’s Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831. Funeral services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19.
