Robert Barber

Robert Edgar Barber, Sr., age 82, of Carson, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. He was born in Mullens, West Virginia, son of the late Hugh and Lettie Dixon Barber. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert E. â??Bobbyâ? Barber, Jr. Mr. Barber enjoyed yard work and was good with his hands. He was an electrician for many years, finishing his career at Phillip Morris. He was also a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army. Mr. Barber is survived by his loving wife, Martha K. Barber; children, Patty J. Cook and husband, Laymon, Terry D. Barber, Judy L. LeMire and husband, Chris, Christine L. Harcum and husband, Dean, P. Mark Barber, Connie E. Johnson and husband, Mike, and Jason Barber and wife, Shanna; step-children, Norman J. Crowder and wife, Michelle, Michael W. Crowder and wife, Jessica, and Debra M. Hunter and husband, Brian; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Barber; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Frankie, Roger and Darrell Barber; and sisters, Maxine Hughes and Janice Blankenship. A funeral service will take place in the Chesterfield chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
