Robert Sam Blackwell

Robert Sam Blackwell, 84, of Prince George, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Born in Florence County, SC, he was the son of the late Willie F. and Zelpihia Edie Blackwell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Michael Blackwell. Sam was a member of Cut Bank Baptist Church in McKenney. He was an avid fisherman and pillar in his community. Sam is survived by his wife, Helen Blackwell; daughter, Alice M. Blackwell (Tommy Newell); two sons, Patrick W. Blackwell and Greg Blackwell; granddaughters, Rebecca Ragland, Amy Daspit, and Autumn Blackwell; grandsons, Jake Blackwell, Luke Blackwell, and Patrick Lee Blackwell; great-grandchildren, Remi Ragland, Kylie Daspit, and Jackson Daspit; and sister, Eva Jones. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Cut Banks Baptist Church with Pastor Stan Allen, officiating, 24203 Cutbank Rd, McKenney, VA 23872.
