Robert Wilburn Burijon

Robert Wilburn Burijon, 88, of Chester passed away on January 18, 2021 following a brief period of declining health. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Effie Burijon, and his sister Joyce Hazlegrove. He is survived by his children Robert Burijon Jr. (Beverly), Shirl Moore (Bennie), Dr. Brian Burijon (Yan Li), and Dr. Barry Burijon; grandchildren Stephani Moore, Jonathan Moore (Laura), Bethany Burijon, Lydia Burijon, and Luke Burijon; five great-grandchildren; brother Ronnie Burijon (Jane); and numerous extended family members. He was raised in Prince George County and Hopewell. After graduating from high school, he served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman during the Korean Conflict. After retiring from a long career at Defense General Supply Center, he worked for Chesterfield County Public Schools as a bus driver. Bob was a devout Christian and he was active in several area churches during his lifetime. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens with Rev. Darrell Boggs, pastor of First Baptist Church, Hopewell, presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
