Robert Hampton Clark

Robert Hampton Clark, 90, of Petersburg, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015. He was the son of the late Herbert and Leanna Clark. Robert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anne Clark; daughter, Matilda Clark of Chesapeake, VA; son, Robert H. Clark, Jr. and his wife, Denise of Midlothian, VA; 3 step-grandchildren, Chris Langgood, Holly Langgood, and Amy Winston; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jayda Winston. Robert was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp and served during WWII. He was also a member of the National Guard for 25 years retiring as Major. He went on to work for the United States Civil Service Department of Defense. After 30 years with civil service he accepted employment for the City of Petersburg where he worked for the next 10 years. Robert was a charter member and trustee of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Petersburg. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. Interment will be held at a later date.
