Robert Clayton Cloninger

Robert Clayton Cloninger, 86, of Chester, VA passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cephas and Ruby Cloninger; two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Cloninger; children, Deborah Ballard (Thomas), Ronald Cloninger (Leigh Hulcher), Gerald Cloninger, Julie Cloninger (Him Yang); grandchildren, Austin Ballard (Maureen), Tyler Clarke (David), Hallie Cloninger (Lou), Olivia Yang, Rose Yang; great grandchildren, Riley, Tatum, Landon and Harper; a brother, Calvin Cloninger (Frances); numerous extended family and friends. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He retired from Dupont with over 40 years of service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831.
