Robert Donald Colvin, Sr.

Robert D. Colvin Sr, 86, departed this life October 5, 2023. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patsy Colvin; mother, Hilda Spooner; and brother, Gary Spooner. Bob is survived by a daughter, Donna Horning (John); sons, Robert (DeAnn) and Joseph Colvin; beloved friend, Shelby White; six grandchildren, Robert, Richard, and Tiffany Colvin, Dana Gill, Ashley Daniel and Sarah Horning; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; two brothers, Tyler and Stacy Spooner. He served his country proudly in the US Army, retired from Fort Lee and was working at Thacker Hardware for the last 28 years and was a lifetime member of the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge. He loved spending time with his family, "piddling" and telling stories. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
