Robert Duncan

Robert Erving Duncan, 79 of Hopewell died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 in Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond. Mr. Duncan was born in Spencer, Iowa and had been a long time resident of Hopewell. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was an active member of First United Methodist Church and was a security guard for Wackenhut at Honeywell Corporation. Mr. Duncan was the son of the late Earl and Vera Skinner Duncan. He is survived by his devoted wife, Hattie Poarch Duncan of Hopewell, a brother, Kenneth Duncan and his wife Mary of Rockford, MN, his godchildren, Faith Faris Gable of Chester, Ronald Faris of Providence, RI and Wendell Faris of Westerville, OH and many other surviving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, September 21, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. O.H. Burton, pastor officiating.
