Robert Stanley Ellis

Robert “Bobby” Stanley Ellis, 84, of Disputanta, departed this life on April 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie & Ruby Ellis. Bobby is survived by his sister, Joyce Thompson; daughter, Patricia Miller and husband, Gary; son, Jerry Ellis; four grandchildren, Gregory Miller and wife Jennifer, Jennifer Adkins and husband, Paul, Melissa Miller and fiancé, Jordan, Melanie Allen and husband Chris; three great-grandchildren, Angel, Benjamin & Keyon. Bobby was well-known and respected in his community thanks to his long-standing custom cabinet business in Hopewell. Hopewell Craft Company, Inc. opened its doors in 1958 and remained on Arlington Avenue for more than 60 years. It was there Bobby worked tirelessly to design, create and install magnificent custom cabinetry for thousands of customers. It was through his work he taught his family the value of hard work and dedication that will live on. For more than 15 years, he regularly attended Lakemont Baptist Church, with long time friend, Judy Renshaw of Petersburg. Bobby was a beloved brother, father, grandfather and friend to many who will be greatly missed. We are comforted knowing he is with Jesus, our loving Savior. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W. Broadway, Hopewell. Funeral services for Bobby will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. also at J.T. Morriss & Son. Dr. Mark Hughes of West End Baptist Church in Dinwiddie will be officiating the service. Bobby’s final resting place will be beside his beloved mother, Ruby, in Bermuda Memorial Park.
