Robert Geddings

Robert Brinon Geddings, age 77, of Chester, VA, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011. He was born in Sumter, South Carolina, the son of the late Lucius and Ruth Geddings. Mr. Geddings was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Cox Geddings. He was a USMC Veteran and former member of the Chester Masonic Lodge #94, Acca Temple Shrine (Provost Unit), Manchester Shrine, and Civitan Club. Mr. Geddings was also a member of the Chester United Methodist Church and Joy Singers. He enjoyed playing golf as well. Mr. Geddings is survived by his daughter, Sherri Morris and her husband, Gordon; granddaughter, Laura Morris; brother, Vernon Geddings and his wife, Georgean; sister, RuthAnn Barrineau and her husband, Jimmie; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Jeane Cox; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Marie Adams for being an exceptional caregiver and friend to Bob. A visitation will be held at the Chester chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, June 1, in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m., with interment afterwards in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chester United Methodist Church at 12132 Percival Street Chester, VA 23831.
