Robert Norman Horne, Sr.

Robert Norman Horne, Sr., 78, of Dinwiddie, died, Saturday, February 20, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Sherman Horne, Sr. and Martha Horne Gwaltney; daughter, Teresa Olszewski, and his brothers and sisters.Robert Norman Horne Sr. was honorably discharged from the United States Army and retired as a decorated Master Sergeant after serving 23 yrs. While serving, he received the Bronze star for his achievements against hostile forces along with other medals of achievements. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, June K. Horne; children, Sonya Hayes, Robert Norman Horne, Jr., and wife, Martha; grandchildren, Taylor Hayes, Stephanie Olszewski, Shaye Olszewski, Ben Cole and Becky Byers; seven great-grandchildren; sister. Connie Wade, numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends, 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home 6616 Boydton Plank Rd., Dinwiddie, VA. 23803; where a service will be conducted 2:00pm Thursday, February 25, 2016. Interment will be private.
