Robert Jr. Roberts

Robert Howard Roberts, Jr., 58, born February 21, 1950 and passed away on Friday, December 5, 2008 in Petersburg, Virginia after a struggle with many Illnesses. He was the son of the late Robert Howard, Sr. and Ellen Duley Roberts of Swanville. Mr. Roberts was Preceded in death by his brothers, Gary H. Roberts and Steve Libby Guilford; guardian, Leslie â??Busterâ? Roberts; and grandparents Leslie and Daisy Roberts. He married April Dudley on November 29, 1969. He is survived by his son, Cameron K. Roberts; daughter, Aneke Pomeroy and husband Rick; grandchildren, Riley, Amanda, Ricky, Whitney, Laderrick, and Quentin; brothers, Joey; sisters, Jackie, Debbie, Nancy, Cindy, and Tammy; niece, Lisa Roberts and nephew Leslie Roberts and their children. He was a graduate of Belfast Area High School in 1968. Mr. Roberts was a member of the Lions Club, Swanville Grange, Belfast Fire Department and the Maine Army National Guard which he served twenty years. He worked at Bi-Rite Market, L.H. Wentworth, and Hamiltons Marine. He enjoyed Ballroom Dancing, Beano, Cards, Singing, playing the Piano, and Cooking. He also loved singing Hymns in the car with his daughter, and spoiling His Grandchildren. He was a very giving person. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Roberts at Faith Temple Church of God, Route 52 in Belfast, Maine on December 22, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Ken Davenport officiating.
