Robert William Knapp

MSG Robert William Knapp, Jr., U.S. Army (retired), 66, of Chester, VA, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014. Born in Springfield, OH, he was the son of the late Robert William and Margaret Johnson Knapp. Mr. Knapp retired October 1, 1987 after 20 years of service in the U. S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Lillian “Patty” Knapp; sons, Robert W. Knapp, III and wife, Shelley, and David A. Knapp and wife, Melissa; daughter, Anita Ozmore and husband, Donnie, 10 grandchildren; sisters, Pam Hollis and Cherie Adams, numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks to Hospice of Virginia for their dedicated care and support. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Wednesday, April 16th at the Chester Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service with full military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
