Robert Lee Queensberry, 79 of Petersburg, died Sunday, June 8, 2008. He was born July 6, 1928 in Merherrin, VA. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years M. Jean Queensberry; devoted daughters, Roberta Q. Grant (James) of Prince George, VA, Karlene Lynch (Michael) of Dillon, SC; a son, Larry Rolando (Barbara) of Richmond; sister, Florence Dayberry (Berkley) of Zephyrillis, FL; sister-in-law, Kathleen Lyons (Tom) of Richmond; three brother-in-laws, Doug, Clyde and Don McConnaughhay; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea, he worked for the Petersburg Police Department, Richard Bland College as a Security Officer and retired from Petersburg Area Transit as a bus driver in 1993. He was a faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and he received his fellowship degree, loyal order of Moose in 1993 and member of the American Legion Post # 2. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A Memorial service will take place 10:00 am Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Pastor Rodney Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park.
