Robert Miley Shaw III, 45, of Claremont, VA passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Miley Shaw, Jr.; step- mother, Margaret Shaw; step-father, John W. Sumerville, Jr.; grandmother, Mildred “Granny” Stargardt Kelley. He is survived by his mother, Betty Sumerville; sister, Robyn Reaves; step-sister, Crystal Stevens; niece, Courtney Ellard; great-niece, Rachel Priborsky; grandchildren, Braegan, Kellan, and Aydan; best friend, Lewis Crawley; his three beloved dogs; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Robert was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Spring Grove, VA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Morning Star Baptist Church, 19121 Brandon Rd., Spring Grove, VA 23881. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the church with the Rev. Dr. Robert L. Elliott, Jr. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Surry Animal Shelter, 265 Old Burrough Rd., Surry, VA 23846 in memory of Robert.
