Robert Edward Sherrill Sr.

Robert “Bob” Edward Sherrill, Sr. 75, of Chester, VA passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Dee Sherrill and Daisy Pearl Ledlow Sherrill; and his brother, Ronnie Sherrill. He is survived by his loving wife, Edna L. Sherrill; daughter, Denise S. Long; son, Tony Giannotti; daughter, Tracye L. Sherrill (Debra); daughter, Sherri G. Sherman (Glenn); son, Robert E. Sherrill, Jr. (Annette); grandchildren, Adam Chaney (Terah), April Chaney, Derek Giannotti, Mathieu Miner (Alicia), Kalli Behm (John), Brittney Lavery (Kirk), Jennifer Sherman, Kyle Sherman, Morgan Sherrill and Lauren Sherrill; six great grandchildren; brother, Larry Sherrill; sister in law, Diane Sherrill; numerous extended family and friends. Bob served in the USAF during the Vietnam War and retired as a MSGT with more than 20 years of service. He then went on to retire from the Commonwealth of Virginia after 22 years. Bob was founder and President of Enon Remodelers, LLC. Bob was an active member of Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church serving as Treasurer, member of the choir and on the Leadership Committee. Bob was also a officer, member and contributor to the Chester YMCA. The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017, and 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the funeral home. A burial will take place at a later date in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
