Robert Nuel Swift Jr.

Robert Nuel Swift, Jr., 80, of Hopewell, VA passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Born in Hopewell, VA, he was the son of the late Robert Nuel Swift, Sr. and Frances Mae Ellett Swift; and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn E. Swift. Robert was a longtime member of Liberty Baptist Church in Hopewell and had retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier after many years of dedicated service. He is survived by his sister, Doris Blevins; a brother, Douglas Swift; three nieces, Laura Sylvester (Anthony), Christy Jones and Melanie Jones; one nephew, David Swift; and one great-niece and three great-nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Blandford Cemetery with the Rev. Phil Andrews officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 3808 Woodlawn St., Hopewell, VA 23860 in memory of Robert N.
