Robert Thayer

Robert H. (Bobby) Thayer, 72, of Petersburg departed life Thursday, Aug. 25 at John Randolph Medical Center. He was the son of the late William (Dooley) and Lucille Cutchin Thayer, & was Preceded in death by 2 brothers, Earl Thayer of Petersburg and Billy Thayer of Hampton, VA. He was retired from the Defense General Supply Center (Bellwood) and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He is survived by his wife Kathy Owen Thayer, 2 sons; Christopher Vincent Thayer and Robert Allen Thayer and a daughter Cynthia Diane Thayer all of Petersburg, VA, 1 grandson, and 2 sisters; Mildred Thayer Leys of Petersburg and Helen Thayer Brewster of Mechanicsville, VA and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 30th in the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Rev. Elvis Stevens officiating. Family and friends will meet at Bermuda Memorial Park at 12:30 PM for the interment. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 9 AM to 11 AM.
